We Are Non Profit Organization
CTEN is an ICT centered refugee-founded and led organization which began in 2011 and 2016 in South Sudan (Yei) and Uganda (Rhino Camp, Arua district) as a community based initiative. It was founded by south Sudanese (refugee) professionals who saw a gap in information dissemination and communication among refugees. Its main goal is to connect, assist and inform the refugees and host community through ICT and sports. In 2018, CTEN became a legally registered NNGO in Uganda,
headquartered at Eden Zone in Rhino Camp refugee settlement. CTEN has since expanded to four other refugee settlements namely Bidibidi, Imvepi, Lobule and Kiryandongo as a result of support from UNHCR, UNHCR Innovation Service Geneva, WFP, NetHope, Mercy Corps, GSMA, BMZ, Royal Dutch Embassy Juba, Australian Embassy Nairobi, Great Lakes Initiative (GLI) and other network of CTEN -Connects ~ Assist ~ Informs individuals and organizations in the diaspora. CTEN currently has competent workforce with over 80 years of combined work experience in relevant fields including humanitarian work. The work force comprises of 60% refugees and 40% non-refugees including host community members, international and national interns or volunteers
