End year Get-Together with Local #CommunityStructures
CTEN met with Community and Refugee-Led Organisations Leaders from Bidibidi, Imvepi and Rhino Camp refugee settlements as part of end of year “Get Together”. Two #RWC3 for Rhino Camp and Imvepi, women leaders, youth leaders, Elder and over twenty #RLOs leaders turned up for this event.
During the meeting, Leaders collectively appreciated UNHCR and the Government of Uganda #OPM for its Protection and favorable refugee policy that enables Forcibly Displaced persons to work and move within the Country, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development.
CTEN and all other RLOs present presented on this year’s major achievements, challenges and plans for next year 2024. Community leaders made several recommendations but most notably they encouraged RLOs to form and work in #Consortium as best approach, #StrengthenSystems and embrace Localisation policy. In addition, CTEN and Community leaders shared key highlights on the #RefugeeForum especially the Government of Uganda pledges on #Selfreliance, #Education, #Transition, #Localisation, #Climateaction and #DistrictCoordination.
Among several actions, participants were able to purchase bars of #soap produced locally by an RLO in Bidibidi refugee settlement and another RLO in Imvepi distributed #clothes to selected vulnerable PSNs.
Facilated by CTEN, this Get Together was a perfect demonstration of enhancing #PeacefulCoexistence.
